Legacies of Loyalty

Celebrating 25-Years of Dedication x2

Wow.

After 25 years, two cherished team members celebrate a remarkable milestone with Spacia Group. In today's fast-paced, ever-changing professional landscape, reaching a quarter-century at one organization is a rare and impressive accomplishment—one that speaks volumes about loyalty.

Antonio and Ruthie, hired several years after the company was established, have essentially grown up with Spacia Group—known then as IMC Framed Art & Mirrors. They represent decades of hard-earned experience and a commitment to excellence. Their contributions have shaped our organization's growth, success and culture.

Lucky for us, they aren't going anywhere any time soon.

As Antonio and Ruthie celebrate their 25-year work anniversary, the timing couldn't be more fitting. During a season centered on gratitude, we are especially thankful for their many years of service. Spending 25-years with Spacia Group isn't just a milestone, it's a testament to Antonio and Ruthie's unwavering dedication and steadfast belief in our company's mission.

Let's hear from Production Supervisor, Antonio Villanueva, and Fitting Specialist, Ruth Mesa.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Antonio: When I first started, everything we did was very straightforward. Framed art and framed mirrors. Within the last few years, we are making more non-traditional, unique pieces. I like being part of that and seeing the process through. It's exciting to see the finished product.

Ruthie: Each day I'm learning new things, new techniques. I love being able to teach others what I know.

What keeps you here?

Antonio: The people are certainly a big part of it. I also really enjoy what I do. It relates to what I studied in Mexico—architectural and urban planning.

Ruthie: Simply put, I like the work. It's a blessing for me and my family.

How has Spacia changed over the last 25 years?

Antonio: The technology!

What have you felt the proudest and why?

Ruthie: I came to this country when I was very young and had very little. Here, I have achieved much and am most proud of that. Having a job I enjoy and providing for my family, again, is a blessing.

What does a typical day look like?

Antonio: I wake up early (5:30 AM) and stop at Chick-fil-A before coming to work. We have a production meeting every morning to review our current projects. My day is spent working alongside our team, making sure everyone has what they need. Right after work, I go to the gym before going home.

Ruthie: Each day is similar, but also different depending on what projects we are working to finish. My job is to assemble each framed piece of art with care. It's fun to see the different artwork come through and imagine what it will look like on the walls.

What's your favorite color?

Antonio: blue and red

Ruthie: black and gray

If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?

Antonio: Europe

Ruthie: Italy

What is your favorite meal?

Ruthie: I love everything, it's too hard to pick a favorite.

Where did you grow up?

Both: Guerrero, Mexico

What's your favorite tradition?

Antonio: In Mexico, we used to go to the beach right after Christmas and/or the New Year.

Ruthie: El Grito de Independencia, or Cry of Independence

What's a fun fact about you that others might not know?

Antonio: When I was about 10 years old, I worked for a close family friend making bread. One other—when I first came to Louisville, I played the drums in my church's band.

Ruthie: Faith is very important to me.

Reflecting on his experience working with Antonio and Ruthie, President Bryan Ogle shares his gratitude:

"It's a pleasure working with both Ruthie and Antonio. They have always treated me better than I deserve, and I know that they will always do their best no matter the challenge."

"Ruthie always has a smile on her face, and takes great pride in her work. Antonio is always looking for ways to improve how things are done, and is quick to lend a helping hand."

Together, Antonio and Ruthie represent the heart and soul of Spacia Group. They've not only witnessed our evolution—they've been integral to it. Thank you, Antonio and Ruthie, for all that you've done—and continue to do for Spacia! We're blessed to have you with us. Here's to many more years of success, growth, and shared accomplishments.

Congrats on 25 years!
